Vocational Training & Apprenticeships

In partnership with external providers, we are able to offer a range of opportunities to our students enabling them to gain nationally recognised industry qualifications whilst still at school.

VET in Schools Program

Our students have the opportunity to gain a vocational qualification while still at school and as part of their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

From Year 11, students can choose to:

Students are counselled through the decision-making process to ensure they understand the commitment and expectations of the course requirements and are on track to complete their QCE.

VET courses available to our students include:

Our Pathways Coordinator can offer both students and their parents more information on these courses and their inclusion in our VET in Schools program.

*Not all courses may be offered every year. Check with the Pathways Coordinator to confirm the courses currently available.

School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) allow students, generally from Years 11 and 12, to work for an employer and train towards a nationally recognised qualification while completing their secondary schooling and studying for their Queensland Certificate of Education and/or Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

Students are paid for their time whilst working for the employer and supported by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to complete their vocational qualification.

Peace Lutheran College assists students with sourcing traineeships and apprenticeships as well as offering support and guidance whilst on the job.

We invite you to experience the PLC difference for yourself.
